i have not been watching anime this year but now i want to watch something but i am being overwhelmed by the amount of anime out there

Have you watched all the classics? You should start from them imo, like FMAB etc etc. If you haven't, go search for them and do it. Also what are the ones you're overwhelmed about? You should make a list of all the ones that bring attention to you, see what they're about and then watch by looking at ur priorities.
