I love scary movies.  I've seen hundreds from all over the world.  I have a hard time picking a favourite, but I am partial to movies that were a blast to see the first time around.  The last horror movie I remember seeing in a theatre with a great twist was The Last Exorcism.

the original 1976 Omen. nary a monster in sight and yet it is one of the scariest movies you will ever see. insane.

The one that really creeps me out is the original Paranormal Activity. You don't see the ghost really, they never try to explain what it is. Just feels like security footage basically and it creeps me out. But I wouldn't recommend watching the sequels.

THAT is really a good hint. Hasn't never heard about that one!
Will check it out. 1984 is really fitting in that time. I guess something like "The Day After"

The Day After is literally the US interpretation of Threads, or the other way round.

But basically yeah, that's the kinda vibe of the film :p
