ProtonVPN - ProtonMail share data with police on request. Mullvad does not.

Correction: They don't share upon "request", but "legally obligated to follow Swiss court orders if Swiss law is broken." This is a harder process to come by, but nonetheless is important to know the vulnerability. To your point, Mullvad does a better job here because it generates a unique key for registration and apparently doesn't retain any laws. They're based out of Sweden, so of course they are subject to whatever current or future laws may effect this.

Request - order - yes, they share the data in the end.

Mullvad was raided some months ago, police went back with farts.
