You can earn points by posting or replying to topics, but purchasing is definitely the easiest way.

i tried replying to posts by being active on the forum and stuff but for some reasons my credit number is still at zero, any reason for this?

Like others have said, you'll have to keep going. They won't start accumulating immediately. Certain sections also won't give you a credit, whereas others will.
