I don't want to sound like a narcissistic film bro but i started watching film more recently and ive grown to love it more because its just simply more touching because of it being more artistic and experimental. Like sometimes a movie has an ending thats sad/bad but artistic and beautiful, or changes your perspective on life, sometimes it allows the viewer to come up with its own interpretation coming out of the movie theater and thats where the beauty is. Anime on the other hand feels like most animation companies nowadays are only ever focused on the "feel-good" aspect of a show and ive never been able to enjoy it the same ever since i came to realize this. Theres nothing unique in it anymore

Maybe its just the series, anime movies arent that bad, or maybe im just weird

Not sure I agree. Plenty of anime have deeper meanings and open ended endings.
