I find Rick and Morty good for it's philosophical implications. Have you tried some of the next few animes? Deathnote, Death Parade, Mirai Nikki, Steins;Gate, Black Butler.

I don't know why but Solar Opposites has too crazy scenes sometimes. Def not as good as R&M!

Anime comedy sucks in general. That aside,

For edgy comedy, I'd go for Bakemonogatari
For existential philosophy (but no comedy), I'd go for Texhnolyze
For the scifi/comedy combo, I'd go for Steins;Gate

Out of the three, Steins;Gate is the most similar to Rick and Morty.
