In January, 2025 400GB of info on 2,873,410,842 Twitter (X) users was leaked, almost certainly taken by a disgruntled employee while many employees were being laid off. I am posting this because I have seen no sign that X or the general public is aware of the largest social media breach ever (I first tried contacting X via several methods with no response).

EDIT: I have uploaded a detailed analysis (mainly of interest to media, security researchers, and disbelievers). TL;DR: Yes, there are 2.8 billion unique valid Twitter user IDs screennames, and yes, there is the possibility that emails/phones/passwords were taken.

EDIT: This 200M merged file is really irrelevant, the 2.8 billion user Twitter leak is the real news. Info on how to download can be found here (or several posts down).

Here, I have taken the records from the 200M Twitter breach (which X claims is public data) and appended the data from the 2.8 billion breach. Only records with screennames present in both are included, so there are 201,186,753 total entries.
